Junk In, Junk Out, Know What You're Eating

Junk In, Junk Out: Do You Know What You’re Eating?

I love to eat! It must be my Italian heritage that drives me to gobble whatever I see. But when I began modeling and actually started being more aware of what I put in my body, I’ve realized many things. First and foremost, and the most obvious – what you eat directly affects how you look as well as your energy level for the day.

While surfing on YouTube, I saw this video from Jamie Oliver which basically sums up what I feel about junk food! It’s funny, whenever I start eating something which I think is TOO GOOD and SEMI-ADDICTING, I know it’s junk!

In Jamie’s video, he shows that practically 70% of what we eat is JUNK! Yes, because 70% of ground beef in America contains this shit. No surprise, they wash what is practically a slightly better form of dog food with cleaning sprays my Mom uses to clean the house!

I know that fast food and processed goods are a quick way to get a meal and only on occasion, is it acceptable especially when there’s no choice. But you should realized that when you eat processed stuff, heart disease is a possibility in the future.

Ingredients contained in this type of food too are fats I would STEER CLEER FROM – likes TRANS fat and SATURATED fats.

Phil’s Tip: If you really need to eat something quick, go to a DELI instead of a FAST FOOD place. Do your best to avoid eating something processed.

Stay away from trans fats and keep salts as low as possible.

Remember, junk in, junk out. I don’t want you to look like junk, so please stop eating it!
If you have any questions, just post in the comments below and as usual…stick around :-)

This theme is now more relevant than ever. Every day more and more people think about healthy eating. On the Internet there are a lot of information about it. I am very pleased that young people like you, think about it and talk about it. Because you are a role model for many young people. Thanks to Google translator for my bad English :)

    Phil:
While I have worked on my health for years, last year I read a book that gave me much needed weight loss. I’ve been stuck on a plateau for some time now with dieting and exercise, but last summer I read “Why We Are Fat and What to Do About It” by Gary Taubes. Gluten is the ‘killer’ and I dropped nearly 25 pounds from that plateau I’ve been stuck on. I didn’t think that gluten made that much difference, nor did I think I would embrace eating gluten-free food. But when I read the book, it emulated things I’d been saying for years. Processed bad, fresh good. (By the way if you try the bread, be sure to toast it first!)
