K, just a quick note. Yes, I was born w/this name, and as fate would have it, I am!! Was kind of rough growing up, but, as an adult it’s a source of good natured fun (especially since I’m from SF, so, no big deal there). My family and I have always been fit, and we’re a nice looking group (even just turning 50, I do admit I still turn quite a few heads). In June of 2010, my sister was murdered by her husband (who then comitted suicide – he “snapped” due to severe financial problems – they had lived very well and w/the economy going downhill, so did he). As a result, I had to go on some medications to help me, and yes, I drank like a fish to “numb the pain”. That was a mistake. Side effects were that in October 2010 I had complete liver failure and was in ICU for a month. 3 times my family was called in to “say good bye” as I wasn’t expected to make it – my mother was a wreck as she wouldn’t be able to lose another child a few months after losing the other. My liver doc (one of the top 3 in the country for liver transplants) has, numerous times, mentioned that I’m one of his “miracles” – sort of like Harry Potter – he was “the boy who lived” and I’m “the man that lived”. I continue to improve in my health, thankfully. I’m a runner and enjoy 5K – but, since my illness, I’ve been unable to run. I have done some working out, and have built up my arms and chest somewhat (they suffered from atrophy from non use while hospitalized and during my recuperation). Running has been a problem – severe calf muscle hardening/pain (not cramping – big difference). Doctors don’t know why – we’ve checked w/the side effects from my meds and are still unsure. But, I’m currently being weaned off of another medication (yay!), so, maybe I’ll be able to start running again, and do my 5K’s, and the 10K in SF in August (The Big Gay 10K – an SF AIDS benefit run). Yes, looking at younger, nice looking guys is “fun”, but, for some (myself included) it’s also a motivator to get into the best shape I can (I know it won’t be like before my hospitalization), but, any motivation’s a good motivation, and you do motivate me. Hey, Bill don’t worry about how much you typed. I read it a couple of times just to get a picture.. well I am glad you will be getting back to your running. And I thank God for your health getting better as time goes on.. I am glad that my pictures and my work motivates you, I will be here posting pictures so I hope to continually motivate you from now on. I can’t believe the story about your sister, that is horrible and I feel so bad. If you need anyone to talk to ever just send me an email and I will be here ..
